~:: THE ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY ::~
A lover of the arts, Marcus Gooding studied Architectural Drawing and Design and is the holder of a Bachelor of Laws Degree from The University of London. He started painting in oil paints at the age of thirteen, with an embryonic style based on his own naive perceptions of the world.
He grew up in Averbouke Street Diego Martin, amidst an incredible scenic beauty affectionately known as the "Valley". His youth was flavoured with images of a Caribbean country Trinidad and Tobago, coming into its own.
Having never given up the passion for painting in oils, and although preoccupied with a professional career in Facilities Management, he continues to paint for the sheer joy of it. In 2006, the Artist decided to paint semi-professionally and has produced a collection called "Reflections of a Spirited West Indian Mind". His objective will be to illustrate and portray familiar themes from a different perspective.
When standing before his paintings, the observer will be able to see the strong imprints of the artist' knife, projecting both a mixture of strong as well as pastel colours. The Artist a student of Impressionism, endeavours to develop his skills such that one day he can become a true artisan of the discipline.
